Privacy policy
Last updated: October 31, 2026
In short: we keep the bare minimum, only to write to you when Raye Linux launches, and you can have it all deleted whenever you like.
What we keep
- your email address;
- the language you chose (French or English);
- whether you agreed to get occasional project news, a choice you make (or not) on the confirmation page, unticked to start with;
- the date and time you signed up and confirmed, and the version of the consent text you agreed to.
We do not store your IP address with your signup: it is only used, in memory and for an hour at most, to block abuse. Like any website, our front server keeps technical logs (IP address, page requested) for 14 days at most, for security. The site uses no cookies, no audience measurement and no third-party scripts. Only your language choice is kept in your browser, on your device.
Why
To send you one email when Raye Linux launches and, only if you ticked the box for it when confirming your address, a bit of occasional project news. Nothing else: no ads, no selling, no sharing.
Legal basis
Your express consent: you tick the box, then confirm it by clicking the link we email you (double opt-in). Without that confirmation we will never send you another email.
How long
- An unconfirmed signup is deleted 48 hours after the confirmation email is sent (7 days at most if that email could not go out).
- A confirmed address is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- An unsubscribed address is deleted within 30 days.
Where your data lives
On a server we run ourselves, in Quebec. Connections to the site go through Cloudflare, which encrypts them and shields the site from attacks. We do not hand your information to any emailing, advertising or analytics service.
Unsubscribe, see or delete your data
Every email has a link to unsubscribe in one click. To see, correct or delete your information, write to [email protected]: we answer within 30 days.
